Educate. Empower. Achieve.
The “I Have A Dream” Foundation-New Jersey is a non-profit that provides long-term, comprehensive support to youth and their families. Our youth are called Dreamers and we work with them to and through college, helping them to achieve academically, professionally and in their personal lives.
Eugene Lang, our national founder, used the word “Dreamer” to describe the original IHDF program youth. He chose to call them "Dreamers", to embody the hope and aspirations of the generation, and to emphasize the importance of creating opportunities for all children, regardless of socioeconomic status. We call our students Dreamers in continuance of that tradition, and as an affirmation that their dreams are realistic, achievable and important. We believe that words matter and that by calling our students Dreamers we will encourage them to do so without restriction.
